OMAHA, NE   April 16, 2010 – Omaha, Nebraska’s second annual premier wine tasting festival is coming this summer. The Riverfront Wine Festival, sponsored by WineStyles, will take place at the Lewis and Clark Landing on Saturday and Sunday, August 28th and 29th, 2010. The event is expected to be the largest gathering of serious wine lovers in the state.

Over 150 wines will be available for tasting at the Grand Tasting from 30 different wineries and importers, including Domaine Serene, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Witness Tree, Banfi Vintners, Leonard Kreusch, E&J Gallo, and Wente Family Vineyards. Many of the participating wineries will be introduced to the Nebraska market for the first time at the festival’s Grand Tasting.

Wines sampled will be available for sale on-site through WineStyles. “We are working with our many partners in the wine industry to bring new, unique offerings that have not previously been available in Nebraska,” says Robert Bolden of WineStyles Omaha. “Attendees will be able to Taste, Learn and Enjoy some of the most sought after, fun and interesting wines in the world.”

Wine-related seminars and food/wine pairings will be available throughout the festival. Presenters include Bob Bolden, Proprietor of WineStyles Omaha; and Jennifer Reeder, past president of Nebraska Wine & Grape Growers Association, member of the Southeast Nebraska Wine Trail.

The entertainment lineup includes the Black Squirrels, Heidi Joy Jazz Band and the Joey Gulizia Tropical Band.

Junior League of Omaha has been selected as the non-profit beneficiary of the festival, receiving a portion of the ticket sales. “We are looking forward to great wine and food, as well as the opportunity to earn money to give back to our community in the form of scholarships and community grants,” says Shannon Hoy, President of Junior League of Omaha.

WineStyles is the title sponsor. Other major sponsors include DocuLynx, Inc., Omaha Magazine, Her Magazine and Encounter Magazine, and Gorges Volvo.

The event will take place rain or shine at the Lewis and Clark Landing on Omaha’s riverfront.
